Pentax Digital SLR Lenses

Pentax is one of the few manufacturers to produce camera systems ranging from compact cameras to medium format 645 and 6x7 cameras and lenses. Pentax has had mixed success with its range of digital SLR cameras and lenses but with the recent addition of its' highly specified and highly regarded K7 DSLR, things may be about to change.

Pentax has a fine range of lenses available for anyone buying into its' digital SLR system. In addition, as Pentax has kept faith with its' PK mount, there is a huge selection of older PK manual and autofocus lenses on the secondhand market. The vast majority of older lenses will be full frame lenses and must be multiplied by 1.5 to obtain their true focal length as all Pentax digital SLR cameras use the smaller APS-C size sensor (23.5 x 15.7mm). As of 2009, there is no full frame Pentax digital SLR on the market.
